Mac Pro, iMac Might Be Working on 8K Display

Apr 11, 2017 01:19 PM EDT

Certain websites and blogs have reported that the American multinational tech company Apple has been working on their Mac Pro and iMac with a modular design. It is said that both devices would have an 8K display.

In an article published in Mac Rumors, Apple is said to have its MacPro with a modular design that would be accompanied by a pro display that is Apple-branded. In Pike's Universum blog, it is believed that the product would have an 8K resolution.

The 8K displays were already observed in some products on the market now. Before Apple is rumored to use it to the Mac Pro, it was Dell's new 32-inch UltraSharp 8K display that started it, with the price of $5,000 in the United States. Currently, Apple is having a Retina 5K Display and UltraFine 5K Display on their iMac products.

This usage of the 8K display on Mac Pro and other devices could be possible after Apple confirmed that it had exited the standalone display market. This was done after they discontinued the Thunderbolt Display last June 2016.

It was considered as a smart move for the company that produces Mac Pro and iMac, given that they are no longer focusing on the pros of the display they are using. Currently, the company is considering the hardware flaw of the UltraFine 5K Display.

Meanwhile, reports are saying that the iMac would have a high-end model that "won't be so mini anymore". With this, it suggests that it would have an expensive configuration as it might have a larger or taller design for the upgraded tech specs like the Mac Pro.

Currently, Apple is not sharing nor confirming specific details about any upgrades on Mac Pro or iMac and the rumors on having an 8K resolution. However, Apple has said that it would not be ready for this year.
