OnePlus 2, OnePlus X Nougat Update: Company Still Silent, Users Might Get it Shortly

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has been in the limelight since Google released Android 7.0 Nougat credit to the flow of updates it provided to customers owning the OnePlus smartphones. The OnePlus 3 and 3T have started receiving the Android Nougat update back in December 2016. This means that the original OnePlus one, the OnePlus 2, OnePlus X are the only handsets left, which do not have the Nougat update.

Now back in June last year, the OnePlus did claim that the OnePlus 2, OnePlus X would receive the Nougat update, but till date, there has been no indication that the update is on its way. However multiple posts on the official OnePlus forums have still to yield a response from the smartphone giant and it looks like those owners of the handset are getting a little ticked off, as reported by Ubergizmo. Also, the folks at Android Police have reached out to OnePlus who declined to comment on the issue, so it is unclear as to what's going on.

However, it seems that by focusing all its resources on getting updates for its latest high-end smartphone, OnePlus might have forgotten its promise to OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X owners. Dissatisfied OnePlus 2, OnePlus X users have started a new Thunderclap campaign with the purpose of making Company listen to their voices.

According to Phone Arena, OnePlus has already been made aware of the Thunderclap campaign as multiple threads have been posted on the company's forum for Nougat update to OnePlus 2, OnePlus X. However, still, there's no official answer that would at least allow customers to hope for the Nougat update.

On the other hand, according to Gizbot, the 2015's flagship phone of OnePlus has again been spotted on Geekbench. And the reappearance of OnePlus 2 on the benchmark indicates that the company has plans to release the Android Nougat update to OnePlus 2, OnePlus X shortly.

It's been four months since the OnePlus 3 and 3T received Android Nougat updates. So maybe it's time for OnePlus to turn its attention to those who bought its older OnePlus 2, OnePlus X smartphones.
