LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition To Get Android Wear 2.0 This May

Apr 11, 2017 10:31 AM EDT

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will get the Android Wear 2.0 update this May. This is the second watch of LG that will receive the update.

In an article published by Android Police, in one of LG's Google+ accounts, the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will get the Android Wear 2.0 update in the beginning of May. It follows the update for the company's first-gen Watch Urbane and Watch R. It was also confirmed on LG's official website.

While users of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is waiting for the update, they should think of how beneficial this is to their device. So what is with the Android Wear 2.0?

The Android Wear 2.0 was reported to have a great use in the device's LTE connectivity. This means that there could be a possibility of Android Pay being added to its features because of the NFC chip.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition was noticed by most people as a "first" in smartwatch milestones. It was considered as the first Android Wear device with the feature of LTE connectivity.

The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition was said to be the first in having multiple function buttons. It is also the first one with a speaker for voice calls.

Some of the features of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition are stainless steel 316L, brushed metal finish and a 1.38" Full Circle P-OLED Display. They also have 570 mAh battery and 4GB worth of internal memory that could be used up to 2.4 GB.

"So it is not clear why LG is not making it the first watch to receive Android Wear 2.0. Although the Urbane 2nd users will wait for almost a month from now to get the update, Android Wear 2.0 will make the device's LTE connectivity way better. It might even get Android Pay," Chandrika Jana of Gizbot has written.
