The Huawei honor series is known for its sophisticated specs that could essentially go head-to-head with well-known brands like the Apple and Samsung. Just recently, Huawei released yet another high-end phone under the Honor series, the Huawei Honor 8 Pro.
The Huawei Honor 8 Pro, also known as Huawei V9 in China, is a successor to the Huawei Honor 8 and it claims to have a bump in every spec that you care about in a smartphone. It even had the tech community buzzing with speculations that it is better than the Huawei P10.
If you're planning to pick one of these phones, you might want to take a look at the things that set these phones apart. So without further ado, here are the most notable differences between the Huawei P10 and the Huawei Honor 8 Pro.
The Huawei Honor 8 Pro is packed with a massive 4,000 mAh battery, 6GB RAM, 64GB ROM and is powered by Huawei's updated Kirin 960 octa-core processor. On the other hand, the Huawei P10 has a 3,200 mAh battery and an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor. They have the same amounts of RAM and ROM, and both run on Android Nougat 7.0 OS.
According to Cnet, the Huawei Honor 8 Pro also has the Huawei Honor 8 dual camera which features a 12-megapixel Sony IMX286 with dual-LED (dual tone) flash wherein one takes monochrome shots the other takes photos in color (RGB). In addition to that is its 8-megapixel front camera.
The Huawei P10 however, has a20MP monochrome sensor + 12MP RGB sensor which has image stabilization, Leica co-engineered lenses and image processing. It also has Summarit-H lenses with a f/2.2 aperture.
In terms of display, the Huawei Honor 8 Pro has a 5.7-inch QHD LCD, 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (515 ppi) with an oleophobic coating while the Huawei P10 has a 5.1-inch Full HD LCD, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (432 ppi) and no oleophobic coating. The Huawei Honor 8 Pro comes also with a Gorilla Glass 3 coating compared to the Huawei P10 which has a Gorilla Glass 5 coating.
The Huawei Honor 8 Pro is apparently cheaper with a price tag of £474.99 (549 euro), while the Huawei P10 is priced at £553.77 (649 euro). The Huawei Honor 8 Pro is only available across Europe at the moment but a report from The Verge said that Amazon plans to start shipping it by April 20 and will be available in midnight black, navy blue and platinum gold variants.
