Latest updates reveal that the New Balance RunIQ will be receiving the Android Wear 2.0 update very soon. According to reports, the developer has already confirmed that the device will receive the update no later than April 14, 2017.

The recently launched wearable device is not running Google's new OS for smartwatches - the Android Wear 2.0. New Balance announced the RunIQ, which is the developer's first Android Wear watch, earlier this year 2017 and released about a month later.

Although the developer announced that the new device has already been confirmed to receive Android Wear 2.0, it did not specify when users will be able to download it onto the watches. It is reported that Google delayed the rolling out of its Android Wear 2.0 to many compatible smartwatches that were initially expecting the update, which left the developer with no choice but to delay upgrade for the new watch.

However, fans are excited that the Android Wear 2.0 will be coming to RunIQ smartwatch in a matter of days based on the announcement made by New Balance. According to reports, users do not need to worry, as the smartwatch will display a notification when the update is available for download.

Since the announcement stated that the release of the Android Wear 2.0 update for RunIQ is expected to start no later than April 14, users should already have the update on their devices at the expiration of this period. According to Android Police, the new update also features some improvements to the RunIQ watch, including Bluetooth connection when paired with an iOS device and also improved GPS acquisition when paired with an iOS device.

The update will also introduce overall enhancement in battery life along with larger mile, kilometer, and lap notifications. According to Phonearena, in the new update, the mile, kilometer, and the lap notifications, have been made bigger, but also include the previous split time.

The report also stated that the new update will introduce Google Play Music and untethered running for iOS users. It is reported that new customization watch faces with Complications will also be available to RunIQ users. Read More: Samsung To Maximize Production Of The Galaxy S8 Plus; Details Here!
