Apple iPhone users should not throw batteries at glass houses. Samsung's own investigation revealed that the issues with the battery were responsible for explosions and subsequent recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 last year. It seems that a problem with the juicer inside a Matte Black 32GB Apple iPhone 7 caused it to explode while it was left alone; charging inside a house in East China's Suqian City.
A woman named Yin, the owner of the phone noticed that her iPhone 7 battery was headed toward the white light which was about to die. So the woman placed the handset on a bedside table, plugged it in, and then went for a walk. As she was about to return from her little jaunt, she heard an explosion then realized that it was her iPhone has exploded.
According to Foss Bytes, the owner of the iPhone 7 took her phone to a nearby Apple Store where an autopsy was to be performed. According to those who handle handset repairs, the blackened screen would tend to indicate that the source of the explosion was the battery inside the device. Any type of deficiency when it comes to the battery could have been aggravated by a problem with the charger or the charging cable. As noted that the device was being charged at the time of the explosion.
"My phone ran out of battery, so what I did is I left it to charge on my bedside table, then went out for a walk and heard the explosion when I came home. Then I realized it was my phone," said Yin, owner of the iPhone 7, as reported by Daily Mail.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the explosion. It's still unconfirmed whether Apple is willing to replace the handset or there will be refunds; iPhone 7 costs $781.
