In early March, there were speculations right after the roll-out of the Nintendo Switch that a new Pokemon game would debut on the console. One speculation is that it would be “Pokemon Stars” which could be an amped-up version of “Pokemon Sun and Moon,” a 3DS hit. It was based on a leaked information to a gaming website that the game was in production, and it was the codename.
Change In Release Date
The leaker told Eurogamer the scheduled date of release is summer 2017, but new reports suggest it would be moved to the yearend, according to Digital Spy. It points out that players should not expect much change from “Pokemon Sun and Moon” if “Pokemon Stars” would launch on Nintendo Switch since that was also what happened to other games which came out on the new console, such as “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” and “Splatoon 2.”
However, The Sun even points to a much later launch schedule of summer 2018 for the speculated “Pokemon Star.” Fans of Pokemon cite as proof of a 2018 roll out is job vacancies posted by Game Freak which creates Pokemon games. The advertisement said the new hire would work at Pokemon’s Tokyo studio to work on a “globally popular” title that is being developed not for the smartphone. Among the job, vacancies are for a cartoon modeler whose task would be to create “exaggerated cartoon-style people and monsters.”
Nintendo Switch List Of Games
But Blasting News reports that Nintendo Switch’s list of games scheduled to release on the console has no “Pokemon Stars” on its roster or even any Pokemon game. It cites Eurogame which claimed that the Nintendo site had a release window of summer 2017 for an upcoming game which could suggest that Nintendo is developing a Mario and Pokemon game. However, the only game for pre-order on Amazon is “Super Mario Odyssey” that has a Dec. 29 temporary release schedule.
