Android 7.0 Nougat Update Now Available For Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+; Samsung Offers Additional Features With Update

After the announcement of Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy Note 5, Sprint rolls out the Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ as well. A number of phone owners have reported of the update to finally arrive on their phones.

The S6 Edge+ owners who look forward to updating their devices need to have their heads up as the software file is a pretty big one. As reported by Phone Arena, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ requires a free storage space of 1.45GB. Sprint also notes of this OTA (over the air) update progressively, which means that the update is not available globally as in yet. The open source development company promises to offer the update to all but in stages. So some user may have to wait for a while.

As far as the update is concerned, it will add some features of its own to the downloadable version. According to the South Korean Giant, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will enable the device to use tweaked features like quick settings button, notification and menu settings, and multi-window preferences. These changes are going to be included in the new update in combination with Google's official updates for the OS version.

After the update, there are claims of improvement in the installation of downloaded applications. Additionally, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ also improves the downloading speed of applications at the time of installation. Further reports note of the Android update to incorporate March security patch with it. So, the ones looking forward to the April security patch update may have to wait till the official date is announced.
