"Injustice 2" will offer a storyline to a new level. NetherRealm Studios recently claimed during the Captain Cold, Flash and Bane Watchtower Twitch stream that the story of the upcoming game will be longer than the first game and "Mortal Kombat X."
According to Game Zone, during to opening segment of the "Injustice 2" stream, NetherRealm's Tyler Lansdown took a question from Twitter and clarifies them. Tyler Lansdown revealed that the story will be longer than the aforementioned "Mortal Kombat X" and "Injustice," where some chapters will actually let players choose their characters to use.
For those players who are familiar with the first "Injustice" and "Mortal Kombat X," the chapter-based story will focus on one or two character forcing players to use fighters they may otherwise not use. In "Injustice 2," reports stated that there will be a couple of chapters that allow players to play as a character of their choice; this also allows for an added replay value as players can revisit the story and manipulate a different character.
According to Gematsu, "Injustice 2" story elements will include Superman's release from his Red Sun prison. Supergirl will also play an important role in "Injustice 2," in which she will have to choose between her cousin and Batman's side. Birds of Prey are hanging around while Green Arrow has returned from the dead somehow. There's a lot to figure out in "Injustice 2" story where there will be lots of twists and turns to be experienced.
Meanwhile, developer NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros Interactive have recently released another character trailer as "Injustice 2" release draws nearer. The new trailer focuses on the long-running Flash villain, Captain Cold in which his moves revolve almost entirely around his trademark freeze gun that can create barriers and stop enemies in their tracks. Other characters such as Cheetah, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Black Adam have gotten their own reveals as well recently. Injustice 2 releases on PS4 and Xbox One next month on May 16th, 2017.
