Pokemon Company Bans Over 7,000 ‘Pokemon Sun And Moon’ Players From Accessing Online Features Of Game

Apr 06, 2017 07:03 AM EDT

For altering saved files, Pokemon Company just banned another 7,651 “Pokemon Sun and Moon” players from accessing the online features of the game. It was the second time the company prohibited thousands of players for cheating. It the banned gamers would attempt to use the online features of the game, they would see a 090-0212 error code.

Missing Out On Game’s Biggest Features

With the ban, these affected “Pokemon Sun and Moon” players would miss out some of the biggest features of the game, GameRant reports. It includes not being allowed to participate in some online battles and in the Global Missions. In early March, Niantic Labs terminated the “Pokemon GO” accounts of some players for using third-party apps.

But because a lot of the Global Missions in “Pokemon Sun and Moon” are a failure, for some banned gamers, it would not be a big deal. These banned players were not notified ahead of the ban, and the only way they could access the online features is to buy more copies of the game. The ban is permanent and could not be revoked. If more players would breach the rules of the game, the company could impose harsher punishments.

Serebii Report

Serebii, a fan Pokemon website, spread the news about the ban of the 7,651 “Pokemon Sun and Moon” cheaters, according to GameRanx. An internal investigation by the Pokemon Company says the players who were banned allegedly manipulated their saved data on Nintendo 3DS, Blasting News reports.

The January sanctions on “Pokemon Sun and Moon” cheaters affected 5,954 players who were disallowed from accessing Battle spot, an in-game feature, which permits players to be matched on a global scale. With the new ban, the 7,651 players would not be able to participate on April 28 in the Battle Competition with Blazikenite and Sceptilite Mega Stones as gifts.
