Nokia 9 News & Update: Smartphone’s Camera Might Sport A Carl Zeiss Lens

Finnish legends Nokia is all but making a comeback to the smartphone industry with a lot of devices from the manufacturer in development. With the recent release of the iconic 'Nokia 3310' at the Mobile World Congress, there's no stopping for Nokia any time soon. After a gap of two months, Nokia will be unveiling a potential flagship device called the Nokia 9.

Reports from WCCFTech claim that Nokia will be unveiling the 'Nokia 9' smartphone that the industry expects it to be the flagship from the Finnish manufacturer, now backed by HMD corporation. At the moment, the only possibly hardware implementation is that the new Nokia smartphone will come with Nokia OZO audio that is built upon 3D sound in order to provide quality audio output. The technology provides support for up to four microphones for recording purposes.

Other details include a possible Carl Zeiss lens for the rear camera that's expected to output a resolution of 22MP. The premium device from Nokia might be released at the end of 2017 as per reports from Forbes which also mentions that the on-board specifications for the Nokia 9 smartphone to match the likes of current premium segment smartphones like the Galaxy S8 and the LG G6. The Phone is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 835 processor from Qualcomm.

Nokia 9 will also be sporting a 5.5-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1440p. A 12MP front-facing camera on the front is also likely possible as per the report. That said, the phone will comply with an IP68 certification as well as housing as a perfect 3800mAh battery to power the phone.

At the moment, there's no concrete evidence that all the aforementioned features will be a part of the Nokia 9, but that said, the possibility of all of it is very much likely. Nokia is also planning to launch other devices in the same segment, with all of them running Android OS out of the box. At the moment, it's advised to best treat reports like these as possible rumors only since there's no official intimation from the manufacturer.
