Apple’s Patent Application Suggest The Developer Could Be Planing To Incorporate Touch Bar Found In MacBook Pro On Magic Keyboard

New updates state that Apple's recent patent application reveals that Touch Bar found in MacBook Pro could also be incorporated in Magic Keyboard. It is reported that the United States Patent and Trademark Office published three patent applications on Thursday with 20170090596, 20170090597, and 20170090654 all described as a "Keyboard with Adaptive Input Row."

Several reports have noted that the applications identified the developer's Touch Bar interface, which is said to be a compact screen that delivers extra commands that a user can trigger. It also changes depending on the application and the task a user is performing.

Apple insider reported that although the patent application covers to a large extent how the Touch Bar works, the drawings that were attached to the description demonstrate how the Touch Bar can be used with a standard keyboard. The illustration included the MacBook Pro and another different keyboard accessory.

The report also states that two pictures that displayed the peripheral, along with another in front of a display could mean that the developer is planning to create a new version of the Magic Keyboard that uses the Touch Bar. Even though it appeared in a patent application, it is not conclusive that Apple will create a Magic Keyboard with Touch Bar in the near future, but even with the dense language of the patent, the illustrations include a standalone keyboard as well as a laptop, according to 9to5mac.

Apple recently announced that it will be releasing new iMacs this year, but the speculations and features of the upcoming devices were not specified. This has made fans to speculation that the developer is planning to release the new Magic Keyboards with Touch Bar for the new iMacs.

The three patent applications were all filed by Apple in September 2016 and credited ten people as inventors. The Touch Bar, which was released as a part of the 2016 MacBook Pro, replaces the top row of F-keys with an OLED panel used for contextually relevant controls, including word suggestions in a word processor or a timeline slider for video editing applications.

It is reported that the MacBook Pro is the only product from the developer to feature the Touch Bar, but rumors have it that Apple is planning to expand its use of the technology into standalone keyboards. Users of other Mac systems were given the ability to use the Touch Bar with the inclusion of a virtual version of the interface in December 2016.
