Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Could Feature Incredible Dual-Sided Screen Hints Latest Patent

Leaks and claims about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 keep coming since its predecessor has done a good job in the market so people are eagerly waiting for the updated version of Surface Pro 4. Microsoft is planning something spectacular for its next Surface Pro 5, as new reports have claimed.

The company is hard at work on the next generation of its hybrid 2-in-1 device, with a Surface Pro 5 device said to launch in the later this year. A Microsoft Surface Phone is also set for launch soon as rumors continue to swirl around a glorious return to mobile for the company.

A Microsoft's patent for a "Dual Display Device" claims that one side of the device would have a regular screen, with the other made of e-paper. This will allow the e-paper screen to fold out and transform into a keyboard when it is needed. If upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will ship with this then it will replace the existing Type Cover accessory that ships with the Surface Pro 4.

Microsoft's patent application also state using the second screen to control music choices, with thumbnails of album art laid out for the user. Dual-Sided Screen Surface Pro 5 could also be used for gaming, with the display turning into a set of buttons and controls which will be paired with the main display for an interactive experience.

According to Express, the patent was filed by Microsoft in September 2016, which means that it could well in development and now ready for the company's next big launches.  The Surface Pro 5 will prove to be one of Microsoft's most powerful computing devices ever, with rumors claiming that the device will come packing one of Intel's flagship 7th generation Kaby Lake chip.

Other reports have claimed that the Surface Pro 5 will upgrade the screen seen on previous devices by allowing for 4K UltraHD resolution. Upcoming Surface Pro will also feature a 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM.
