Google is reportedly said to be working on a new operating system that will be present Nougat's successor. Google has recently announced that they are actually developing Android 8.0 right now. And the great news is that Google has uploaded the factory images for Android 8.0 on its Android Developers website.
The reason we are talking about Google's Android 8.0 is because the Android parent just announced that Nexus 6 is eligible to download it as well. This came as a surprise since Google was reportedly looking to actually stop supporting Nexus 6, however, now it looks like Google has bigger plans for Nexus 6.
According to Gigjets, Nexus 6 is the building up with the collaboration between Motorola and Google. Motorola equipped the smartphone with premium specs while Google added its latest operating system updates to the mix, therefore, resulting in one of the most popular Android smartphones. Nexus 6 was launched back in 2014 and device still selling rather well despite its age.
The Motorola Nexus 6 has 1440 x 2560 screen resolution with a 5.96-inch screen. The device offers AMOLED touch screen with 74.1% of the screen to body ratio. It also has a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with a pixel density of 493 ppi, as per Technology News Extra.
Nexus 6 is powered by Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor. The chipset clocks at 2.7GHz Krait 450 and paired with an Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
On the storage front, Nexus 6 is available at 32GB and 64GB of storage variants. The smartphone is equipped with a large non-removable 3,220 mAh battery that offers 330 hours of stand-by time and up to 24 hours of talk time.
The Motorola Nexus 6 seems to be a good phone in comparison to the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P. One thing to note is that the company has targeted all its manufactured smartphones. However, for now, we can just wait for the new Android 8.0 to hit the market.
