OnePlus 3T Chromium Model Tipped Off; Next Variant After Midnight Black?

Apr 06, 2017 02:16 AM EDT

A while back OnePlus introduced the Midnight Black 3T version. And, now the company has hinted of yet another variant that comes with a complete chromium body. The OnePlus 3T Chromium edition is a new model that no one really asked for, yet it is the latest addition to the "flagship killer" list of devices.

Skeptics may think of the new model being fake as there has not been an official announcement made by OnePlus. However, as cited by GSMArena, the OnePlus 3T Chromium edition apparently sports the same camera and company logo on the back of the device. Even the usual antenna bands as seen in the 3T models is still visible making fans pretty sure of the existence of the chromium version of the device.

The addition of such features on the back panel also makes it obvious that the device is not painted or coated on the back with the chromium paint. Reported images from TechieBlast of the OnePlus 3T Chromium edition also display the usual components on the device such as a speaker, USB Type-C, 3.55mm headphone jack, etc., all lined up at the bottom of the device at their respective places.

If the new model is truly the OnePlus 3T chromium edition, then the company may soon introduce it the public. Moreover, it is also suggested that the new variant could compete with the likes of the overly priced Sony Xperia XZ Premium that has a chromium body as well.

OnePlus had announced a while back that the Midnight Black edition will be launched as a limited edition flagship device for Colette's 20th anniversary in Paris. A reported 250 units were manufactured back then at the store, initially. Since then, fans' demand for the black edition has increased forcing the firm to make more. Will it be the same case with the OnePlus 3T chromium edition once it is officially announced?
