'Pokemon GO' Continues To Be Popular With 65 Million Active Monthly Users

"Pokemon GO" by Niantic was a big deal at its initial launch period. The addictive game eventually lead to people starting to move out of their houses just to catch some Pokemon. With some people getting injured, and some rumored deaths, the game has witnessed it all. After a gap of approximately nine months, Niantic CEO has come out with a statement that some may find it surprising.

Going straight into the details about it, CEO John Hanke states that their popular game still manages some good limelight with "Pokemon GO" registering an active monthly player count of 65 million. The report from Business Insider revealed that even Minecraft fell behind in the competition, by a massive amount of 10 million players. While Minecraft is a paid game, Pokemon, on the other hand, isn't.

With that said, the developers have seemed to introduce 80 new Pokemon into "Pokemon GO" which might be why it still manages to achieve the numbers. The CEO also intrigued players by mentioning that it will continue to receive updates which would likely include a one on one battle as well as trading centers in-game very soon if not immediately. This should, in turn, manage to withhold the majority of the crowd since that was one of the primary reasons as to why people began playing the game.

Meanwhile, details from Forbes mentions that "Pokemon GO" has continued maintaining its presence in the top ten apps in many regions especially since it has been quite some time since it launched. An earlier report revealed that the app had witnessed a drop in player count according to data provided by a third party.

However, the new data suggests otherwise, especially since the news is now coming out directly by the CEO of Niantic. It's pretty much safe to assume that "Pokemon GO" might still manage to attract new players frequently with new updates and content coming shortly into the game.
