The incredible large screens and striking visual appeal are some of the new features of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus has to offer. However, they also require a bit of getting familiar with, which is why Samsung has now enabled launcher icon rearrangement for a more user-friendly interface.
The home screen icons on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus can be rearranged with just a tap. SamMobile reported that Samsung's latest Android launcher supports a feature that lets users rearrange all Home screen shortcut icons and place them on either top or bottom of the screen.
Setting your Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus icons on top will place them to the upper left corner of the screen while setting it at the bottom will place your icons on the down right corner. You could arrange the icons depending on how or where you want them.
This feature is a great alternative to Samsung's usual interface setting options like the one-handed mode which minimizes the display into a more convenient size. Once you're finished, you can just spread it back to default.
This new feature added to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is great for people who have few shortcut icons on the screen. However, to those of you who have icon-filled home screens, the effect may be dubious.
Here are the steps on enabling the new icon rearrangement as reported by Phone Arena:
First, do a long-press on a blank space on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus home screen. Then, there will be a button on the middle that will appear among the options that will enable the rearrangement of the icons. After that, tap the button to set your icons depending on where you want them (top or bottom). Lastly, a prompt will appear and you should tap "apply".
The only disadvantage of this feature is the unavailability of going back to the custom icon arrangement you were using before. Nevertheless, this new function of Samsung's android launcher on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is a helpful alternative.
