‘Pokemon GO’ Latest News: Niantic Starts Updating PokeStops With New Descriptions, Photos

Apr 05, 2017 07:29 AM EDT

“Pokemon GO” is barely a year old but one nuisance that bothers most is the passé PokeStops and Poke Gyms. Apparently, the information used when the augmented reality game was launched was from years back, locations which have since been updated or occupied by something else.

According to Pokemon GO Hub, new high-resolution photos taken by “Ingress” players are starting to crop up. There is no word on the coverage of the update is though reports claim that it is worldwide. One player named Rdash123 is reportedly active playing ingress and confirmed that most of the photos he submitted were accepted and now visible for both “Pokemon GO” and “Ingress.”

Coverage unknown

Most “Pokemon GO” players will welcome this development, hoping it would include their regions as well. Aside from the updates to current PokeStops, it remains to be seen if there will be additional landmarks joining the list.

Aside from the images for PokeStops on “Pokemon GO,” some updates could be on the descriptions many overlook. Hence, it may not entirely about just visuals but also updating locations for more reliable information on the location.

Not all PokeStops on “Pokemon GO” need to be changed. Some will still be around so a lot depends on the updates that Niantic is reportedly undertaking. Niantic has yet to announce anything of the sort though most would appreciate an update to see if they are covered.

Anything happening this Easter?

With regards to “Pokemon GO,” most are eager to find out if any special event is happening next week. Easter is fast approaching and the egg-hatching and spawns are anticipated to offer something special, Slash Gear reported. Niantic did wrap up the Water Festival event for “Pokemon GO” and Easter has long been rumored to be next. There is enough time to see what the game developers up their sleeve, hopefully, something rewarding as past “Pokemon GO” events.
