Xiaomi Mi 6 Rumored To Release This Month

After much rumors and speculation, Xiaomi Mi 6 is now officially confirmed to be releasing this month. The confirmation is coming directly from none other than Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun.

Xiaomi CEO Jun was in a live streaming session with Xiaomi fans, when he finally spoke about the Mi 6 release. Though Jun didn't mention any specific dates for the release of smartphone, however if Chinese media reports are to be believed, then Xiaomi Mi 6 will be announced anywhere between April 11 and April 18.

Before this the Xiaomi Mi 6 has been subject to numerous leaks, leaving little to imagination. We have come across leaked renders which show what the device could look like. And in latest the entire spec sheets have been surfaced online as well. One aspect which has hogged the spotlight is the smartphone's photographic chops.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 might sport a 5.5-inch or a 5.2-inch display size, as per the leaked renders. The LCD display on the smartphone is said to be topped by 2.5D curved glass for protection and the premium look.

According to BGR, the flagship smartphone is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, and will come running on Android Nougat 7.0 based MIUI 9. Fascinatingly, leaks suggest that the Mi 6 could be launched in multiple variants which will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 SoC and MediaTek's Helio X30 chipset. 

The said quad-core Snapdragon 835 processor will be clocked at 2.45GHz in the device and oupled with Andreno 540 GPU. Xiaomi Mi 6 might get 4GB/6GB RAM options and 32GB/64GB/128GB storage options. On the other hand Mi 6 Plus is expected to get 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage options.

Moreover, Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to have a 19-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. Device will be backed by a 3200mAh battery and while the Mi 6 Plus might get a 4500mAh battery. Both the smartphones will support nano SIM cards as well, as per the Indian Express.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is also said to feature fingerprint sensor that will be embedded into the display, while leaks and rumors have also suggested that the device could also sport an iris scanner. Before we get too excited, you should know that none of the Mi 6's specifications have been confirmed from the Xiaomi.
