Titanium Gresso 3310 Costs 60 Times $50 Price Tag Of Classic Nokia 3310 Launched At MWC

An ultra expensive version of the classic Nokia 3310 was unveiled by Gresso, a luxury phone maker. The price tag for the Gresso 3310 is 60 times that of the launched Nokia 3310 at the recent Mobile World Congress. While the latter has a price of $50, the titanium version costs a whopping $3,000.

Plastic Versus Titanium

The high-end price of the Gresso 3310 is because the phone uses grade 5 titanium chassis, Mirror reports. In contrast, the classic Nokia 3310’s body is made of plastic. But because the expensive 3310 does not use the name Nokia, there is a possibility that Gresso lacks a license or permission to use the Nokia name.

The Gresso 3310 features a 3MP back shooter. One charge would give the wealthy owner 75 hours of talk time. Gresso claims the pricey smartphone is indestructible because it could withstand being dropped from a height of 32 feet without breaking the mobile unit. In pushing its indestructible claim, a Gresso spokesman asks if the new classic Nokia 3310 could match the similar quality of the 2000 original model.

Putin’s Face

Besides the Gresso 3310, NDTV reports that a Russian company, Caviar, also makes a Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin variant in black color with gold plating. The phone, priced at $1,700, has the face of Russian President Vladimir Putin embossed on the back. There is also a quote from the national anthem of Russia, while the home button has the Russian Federation’s coast of arms, Technews reports.

Of course, the Gresso 3310 and the Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin are for the wealthy people. For developing markets like India, the $50 classic Nokia 3310 would be the bestseller. The affordable phone would be available in India in May, Ajey Mehta, the vice president of HMD Global for India, says.
