Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus To Not Support Google Daydream?

Apr 05, 2017 05:10 AM EDT

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus have just been released in all their glory. And while these devices are celebrated now, some of their drawbacks have now been outed by most tech enthusiasts. One of their obvious flaws is the exclusion of Google Daydream support.

Phone Arena reported that there are more devices being added by Google on the supported list. However, Samsung's newly unveiled Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are said to be not Google Daydream-ready. Both phones are said to sport the perfect virtual reality experience given the great display of its screen's vibrancy and pixel density. And despite its striking display offerings, it will not tandem with Google's VR platform. Installing Google Daydream application from Play Store will give you an error saying that the app is not compatible with the latest Samsung flagship devices.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus may have met all the requirements to fully support the Google Daydream VR. As such, an app compatible with it has not been released yet in the Play Store. Although this may be a disappointment for some users who want to take advantage or access Google's offerings, this will not entirely hamper Samsung's newest devices for a virtual reality experience. Apparently, Samsung assures a smooth VR experience as they have their own proprietary VR headset powered by Oculus.

On the other hand, there is still hope in the future for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus users to be able to use the Gear VR. This can be attained once a new version of the Daydream app that would support the new Samsung flagship devices is released by Google, as per Android Authority.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus' official release date is speculated to be on April 21. With its wonderful offerings for customers who are wanting a wonderful virtual reality experience, these devices will surely make headlines.
