Apr 05, 2017 09:22 AM EDT

Intel's primary rivals AMD unveiled their new processors at a dedicated launch event. That said, AMD Ryzen had made its first impression back at CES this year. After a gap of thirty days, they will soon announce the Ryzen R5 processors on Apr. 11, with the prices beginning at US$ 169. New rumours Indicate about an early possibility of AMD Ryzen R3 series Processors.

Fresh reports from Guru3D reports that motherboard manufacturer ASRock has listed the upcoming low-end AMD Ryzen R3 processors among supported chips for their boards. The report believes it to be an accidental mistake where it mentions the processors to be compatible with the B350,370 motherboards. The entry level chips from AMD are expected to be unveiled possibly in the second half of the year since the manufacturer hasn't announced the R5 line-up yet.

A report from the TweakTown reports that the AMD Ryzen R3 processors would be base clocked at 3.1gHz with a TDP of 65W. However, as of now, there's no actual insight as to how powerful are R3 processors and their performance. A company listing on the website lists the model number for the R3 processors as "YD1200BBM4KAE" likely indicating it would be based on a quad-core architecture that should be compatible with their B350 chipset boards.

AMD Ryzen R3 Family will be named as 'Summit ridge' according to the reports that will come with a cache of 2MB, however, it's currently unknown whether the new R3 processors would support SMT and XFR. With a target price of something below US $100, the question of overclocking possibilities in highly unlikely, but it might be possible due to the competition that AMD is planning to take control of. AMD will also soon release a mobile chip and server edition 'Naples' chips in the coming months. That said, the company's R7 processors seem to be a popular purchase for all new buyers. The R7 1700 is the most frequently purchased chip that comes at a price of US $329.
