MacBook Pro 2017 Said To Be 'Less Interesting,' Would Use Old Hardware Design & Features

With the expectation of better specs and design compared to its previous version, the MacBook Pro 2017 was highly-anticipated for the users of this Apple product. Unfortunately, the device would use the old design of its predecessor.

This contrasts several speculations about the MacBook Pro 2017 will have impressive features, design and new hardware. Computer World has reported that the device would still use the Kaby Lake instead of the latest Cannonlake.

Last year, the American multinational tech company has shipped Kaby Lake for the previous version of the MacBook Pro 2017. It is speculated that the company ordered a lot of Kaby Lake in believing that it would still be used for the rest of the Mac lineup.

With the recent release of the Cannon Lake, the MacBook Pro 2017 might not have the latest processor. With this, it would make the device kind of less interesting.

Apple has been taking the MacBook Pro 2017's price in a higher one even though there is no huge upgrade from its predecessor. But the processor is not the only thing that chose not to upgrade.

In an article published by MacWorld, the MacBook Pro 2017's memory would still be stuck with 16GB RAM. Previous speculations have stated that the device might upgrade its memory up to 32GB.

Apple Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller defended the Cupertino-based company's decision on sticking with the old processor and memory. In an email, he said that the MacBook Pro 2017 could already work fast without having its memory upgrade to 32GB.

With this, it is expected that the MacBook Pro 2017 might have a slicker and slimmer design that could provide longer battery life. Moreover, it is reported that the device might have an OLED display. This disproves the previous reports and speculations that Apple will drop the Touch Bar.
