Mobile World Congress 2017 didn't disappoint the users when it comes to smartphones. Rightfully, Lenovo owned Motorola has used the occasion and launched two devices. These include Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus.
One of the similarities of Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus is these are both mid range devices. Interestingly, Motorola has followed their mid ranger smartphone policy through these devices. However, these devices are moving towards being premium end smartphones in spite of being affordable.
Both Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus look similar and it seems the former is the replica of the latter. The only difference between the two is in terms of hardware. Both the devices have an aluminum body and are available in two color options, fine gold and lunar gray. Moto G5 contains a removable back cover along with a removable battery.
As per India Today, Moto G5 Plus is heftier than Moto G5, but the latter doesn't stay behind. Moto G5 too contains a fingerprint scanner in the front like Moto G5 Plus. In fact, when kept side by side, the devices are hard to distinguish. The Moto G4 finger print scanner was an anomaly, however, the fingerprint scanner in these devices are pill-shaped.
Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus are metal devices with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as well as splash resistance coating. In terms of screen size to the two devices differ. Moto G5 has a screen size of 5 inch, while the Moto G5 Plus has a screen size of 5.2 inch, New Atlas reported. Both the smartphones have 1080p screen. Both the devices run on an unmodified version of Android Nougat.
In terms of processors, Moto G5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, while the Moto G5 Plus is a little better and includes Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. Both the smartphones support expandable memory through micro-SD card slot, 4G LTE and dual SIM connectivity. While MotO G5 Plus comes with 12 megapixel camera, Moto G5 includes 13 megapixel primary camera.
