Apple will be celebrating their tenth year anniversary of bringing out the iPhones, which are a pretty big deal for the Cupertino firm. Hence, it's pretty clear now that Apple's new smartphones for 2017 shall be uniquely designed. With that said, earlier rumors have predicted that all the new smartphones for this year shall be having a true-tone display.
Fresh reports from the internet suggest that their primary rivals, Samsung, will be supplying the panels for displays on the new iPhones. As per reports from MacRumours, it seems like Samsung plans to ship at least a minimum of 70 million OLED panels that was apparently revealed from a report by Nikkei. However, due to precautionary measures, the South Korean firm will likely increase the count to 95million units due to a likely repeat of an increase in demands for the new iPhones.
As aforementioned, the 2017 iPhones are expected to be completely blank in the front with the home button now possibly being implemented directly into the display to increase the aesthetics of the device as well as making the phones more secure than ever. Nikkei's report also mentioned that a 5.2-inch smartphone with an OLED Panel is likely alongside the existent 4.7-inch as well as the 5.5-inch variants with LCD screens.
Earlier reports have indicated that Apple will bring out three models instead of two which might look all but confirmed with the recent reveal from Nikkei. Meanwhile, opinions from Forbes feel that the naming scheme for the iPhone 2017 models might be different with rumors speculating the iPhone 8 might not be final after all.
It seems that Apple will be naming their devices as traditional iPhone 'X' variant and also an 'iPhone edition' likely hinting that the new device might actually be the iPhone edition meanwhile also refreshing the existing models with the likely successors being the iPhone 7s and the 7s Plus.
