HTC U "Ocean" Specs Revealed; Flagship Smartphone To Include 'Edge Sensors'

For those who've found the offerings of HTC U Ultra a bit of a dismal, HTC's upcoming iteration HTC U "Ocean" might very well be the company's attempt to revive what it has lost from the former's latest output. And if you've been a fan of the Taiwanese tech player, you must know that it really doesn't disappoint in the long run.

Slash Gear reported that HTC U "Ocean's" features and specifications are finally in the clear for its anticipating fans to peruse on. It shared that based on the specifications that were rendered, the forthcoming iteration may be gunning as the firm's sole flagship iteration in 2017.

The publication revealed that HTC U "Ocean" will be coming with groundbreaking "Edge Sensors". These sensors will allow the users to squeeze the device's sides either lightly or strongly so it can trigger an action. In addition, users can choose three sensitivity settings that will prevent accidental triggers which can be activated by just holding the unit the wrong way.

On the other hand, HTC U "Ocean" will also be beefing up device's audio settings, specifically in the playback and recording departments. As such, there will be four mics that are slated to pave way for 3D along with hi-res audio recording. Also, dual speakers are confirmed to return in the forthcoming HTC flagship. And for BoomSound enthusiasts, they can now rally in jubilation as the feature is also expected to make a comeback.

HTC U "Ocean" is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 along with 4GB and 6GB for its random access memory (RAM). These will be coupled with 64 or 128GB of native storage. Meanwhile, the only drawback of the device might be its accompanying battery which is only settling for a 3000mAh. The display should come with the glorious WQHD resolution and will be upped further with an Android Nougat out of the box, as per Android Authority.

HTC U "Ocean's" release date is not revealed yet. However, it is expected to be unveiled on or before the end of this year if the company's history should be taken into consideration.
