DICE has announced that "Battlefield 1" will be receiving an update that reportedly lets non-premium users play with their premium friends for added benefits, but with a certain catch. It seems like the game will now let users team up with a friend who has purchased premium content, and then enjoy all the benefits offered part of the premium pack, except premium vehicles and weapons. The new move seems very appreciative from the developers which hasn't been the case with EA anytime before.
Going into the details covered by Gamespot, it seems that non-premium players will be able to access all maps part of the DLC as long as they have a friend who has purchased "Battlefield 1" Premium or the expansion pack at the least. As a limitation, the benefactor will be the only individual gathering all experience and nobody else. This also includes all medals and codexes rewarded part of the gameplay.
In a statement covered by Trusted Reviews, the game's producer explained: "When creating a party in Battlefield 1 you may notice something new: if someone owns a 'Battlefield 1' Premium Pass the party will become Premium Enabled". The major bonus for non-premium players is the benefit of playing maps offered exclusively on a paid basis, but as a downside, players will not receive any other kind of rewards which shouldn't be a major problem since they're not paying for it.
However, there's also an option for players to buy premium content for which the cloud will save the XP for everyone and also additional benefits that they secure. The same will be granted to the buyer who'll then be able to continue with the premium content for "Battlefield 1." "Battlefield 1" recently received a new DLC "They shall not pass," which was released for all platforms.
