Seems like Moto, now owned by its parent firm Lenovo, are already preparing for a new smartphone launch. Rumors from the internet indicate that the former Google firm is now planning to come out with the Moto X 2017 edition for which the images have been leaked on a Chinese daily tabloid. It seems like the phone exactly looks like as described in earlier rumors indicating a possibility of succeeding the Moto Z Play.

Reports from the Phone Arena stated that the newly leaked image on the Chinese website, Weibo, pretty much looks unchanged from a previous leak. The Moto X 2017 according to rumors is all but confirmed and is also under production according to the same report. Meanwhile, the leaked image reveals a dual-lens camera at the back of the smartphone that's shaped in the same way the newer Moto Z is.

In other news, a detailed write-up from Android Central reveals that the Moto X 2017 will be built with a metal chassis that's now a part of the recently released Moto G5 Plus too. With the continuation of the same design, it's also expected to have rounded corners. Taking a look at its hardware specifications, a Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB of memory and 32GB of international storage is likely possible on the new smartphone.

The phone is also expected to be equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the front that will also serve as a security layer for unlocking the device and also helping with purchases on the play store and the like. At the moment, there are no details about the possible display specifications and battery capacity, or even the possible camera resolutions for the new smartphone. The story might pick up the pace in the coming days since Moto only recently released their new G5 Plus smartphone. Since Moto is planning to release the Moto X Play 2017 as a successor to the Z play, a similar price is expected.
