Apple iPhones Still Fare Better in Performance Compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Smartphone

Now that Samsung finally unveiled their eighth generation of Samsung's flagship smartphones, the comparison between its better competitor, the iPhone 7 and 7 plus from Apple has increased by a high margin. The newly available smartphones are expected to be sold with a different price tag everywhere which also affects those nations still under the European union. The Galaxy S8 shall be sold at a price of US $720.

Details from Yahoo tech reported that the iPhone 7 in the day to day tasks fared better than the new Galaxy S8. Apparently, a tweet from a user on his feed disclosed the Geekbench result which put the Galaxy S8 way down, just below the iPhone 6s. Considering the software optimization of Apple in their smartphones, and the amount of bloatware that Samsung dumps in their devices, it might have surely affected the scores but such a huge drop is surely debatable.

Meanwhile, a detailed report from BGR revealed that the iPhone easily overthrew the Samsung Galaxy S8 when it came to the topic of performance. It seems like the Geekbench scores for the Samsung Galaxy S8 only achieved about 2300+ while the iPhone 7 Plus stood on top of the list. It's undoubtedly true that the software integration with its hardware on iPhones are unbeatable for a seamless and uninterrupted performance. But it's unclear as to how the S8 fell back way down the chart in the Geekbench scores.

However, the actual release for the Galaxy S8 is still fixed to Apr. 21. So for those reviews eagerly waiting to get their hands on the new device, the waiting time continues. Samsung's proprietary Exynos chip seems to be on par with Apple's processing chips. The report doesn't mention as to what variant of the S8 was tested.  Apple's A11 chips, as usual, will be better than the predecessor. If the leaked score is actually true, then people might actually wait for the Google Pixel 2nd generation to release.
