After Europe Samsung is now rolling out the Android Nougat update to the Galaxy S6 edge+ in a couple of Asian markets including India. Arriving as version G928GDDU3CQC7, the update which is hitting devices in India and Sri Lanka - brings along Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Android Nougat 7.0 update is being rolled out over the air (OTA) to Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ users in India and Sri Lanka. It seems to be a gradual update, and in case you have not got the notification yet, you will get it very soon. On the other hand, you can also manually check for the update in the Settings menu. Aside from Nougat, the update also includes Android security fixes for the month of March, as per GSM Arena.
The latest Android Nougat update for Galaxy S6 edge+ is about 1GB in size, and so users are recommended to download the file over Wi-Fi. Also, before you begin the software installation, you are advised to check the battery level and ensure it is over 50 percent.
Android Nougat on Samsung Galaxy 6 edge+ would bring all the latest features like split-screen for personalized quick settings, improved Google keyboard with fixes, multitasking, enhanced notifications along with Double Tap to switch quickly between two recent apps and also 'Doze on the Go' battery saver mode.
According to BGR, the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ was launched with Android Lollipop 5.0, and has since been updated to Marshmallow 6.0. The smartphone was launched in India back in year 2015.
In terms of specs, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ features 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, fingerprint sensor and powered by an octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC that is coupled with Mali T760 GPU. The handset offers 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage variants. For the camera front, it features a 16-megapixel CMOS rear camera with 4K video recording, and has a 5-megapixel camera on the front side. The devices have a 3,000mAh battery and include NFC, MTS (for Samsung Pay), Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, micro USB 2.0 port, and GPS with GLONASS connectivity options.
