Blizzard Entertainment is revamping its free-to-play online battle arena game with "Heroes of the Storm" 2.0 update. The new version will bring in a major change and new feature to the game.

"Heroes of the Storm" 2.0 update will carry a variety of novel content like new progression system, loot chests, lots of new loot and hero. Game Director, Alan Dabri, explained that the latest update is in a developer preview version right now, meaning it isn't stabilized yet and will contain bugs and glitches.

Gamers can decide to download the Beta version or wait for the full version of the game. The new progression system is one of the contents in "Heroes of the Storm" 2.0 update which fans have been looking forward to.

The system will remove the characters' level caps, meaning players can increase their heroes infinitely. The profile level will be boosted every time the hero's level is up and all level that has been earned previously will also be included in the profile level once the "Heroes of the Storm" 2.0 update rolls out. Leveling up is also much easier with less experience needed.

According to Mashable, Blizzard Entertainment also does some maintenance in the reward system with its "Heroes of the Storm" 2.0 update and makes it looked similar to its popular multiplayer games, "Overwatch." Fans can get the loot chest every time they successfully make their hero levels up.

The loot crates themselves can contain the new loot previously mentioned, heroes, hero skins, mounts, portrait, and sprays. "Hero of the Storm" 2.0 update will bring in new currency and shards that gamers can use to purchase cosmetic items.

This feature is very good as the initial version required players to spend real-world money to buy the items. With the "Heroes of the Storm" 2.0 update, shards also come easier and can be collected through the duplicate loot chest drops.

The sprays item mentioned above is also another new component that "Hero of the Storm" 2.0 update carries along with stickers, and announced packs. It is said that a new hero from the "Diablo 2" universe, Cassia will also join onboard the game as well as other changes and new contents throughout the next month plus.

"Heroes of the Storm" 2.0 update developer preview is on live starting March 29 until today. It is expected that the full update will be available on April 25, 2017, as reported by Polygon.
