‘Wreck-It Ralph 2’ Sequel Title Announced; Along With its New Storyline and Characters

Walt Disney Studios' animated movie "Wreck-It Ralph" has now its sequel title; "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2." The studio company revealed it during a presentation at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

"Wreck-It Ralph" main voice actors include Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch, and John C. Reilly is reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel. "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2" will be directed by an Oscar-winner Rich Moore from Zootopia and Phil Johnston. Disney announced that the sequel to the smash-hit animation would hit cinemas this coming March 9, 2018.

Obviously, the upcoming Disney's animated movie seems to revolve its story more about the internet than video games, as what its title suggests; "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2." According to NME, director Rich Moore stated last Tuesday that their production team and designing team worked hard to take all the characters in the upcoming movie into the enormous world of the internet; in a whole new imaginative way. He added that the world of internet was the perfect place to send Ralph and Vanellope where the scopes and scales are so vast the possibilities for comedy are infinite.

As reported by E! Online, the first animated movie installation "Wreck-It Ralph" was a big success where the movie made it close to $50 million during its first weekend, surpassing the Walt Disney Animation Studios' previous record-holder, "Tangled." The film went on to dominate more than $470 million at the Global Box Office against a $165 million budget. "Wreck-It Ralph" was generally received positive critics and reviews for the voice work of other actors such as Jack McBrayer, Mindy Kaling, and Jane Lynch in which it was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature but lost to Pixar's "Brave."

Director Moore said in 2012 that he was aiming for Nintendo's iconic Mario character if ever it can be featured in the film. However, Nintendo didn't release any statement prior to Moore's plan since "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2" will be focused on the internet.
