Speculations Say Next ‘Injustice 2’ Character NetherRealm Would Reveal On March 30 Is Captain Cold

While a teaser image released by NetherRealm on Tuesday, March 28, gave no hint on the new “Injustice 2” character the developer would reveal on Thursday, game experts have an educated guess. A gaming website believes the new character is Captain Cold. The basis of its guess is the trailer for “Shattered Alliances Part 2” released a few weeks ago.

Accidental Reveal. WWG notes that the new character, likely Captain Cold, who was revealed accidentally, is the penultimate new character for “Injustice 2.” The game is supposed to have 28 core cast characters in its base roster, but the current number is only 26.

Last week, a trailer revealed Black Adam as a new character, GameSpot reports. He was shown facing off Supergirl in Egypt. However, the outcome of their encounter was not in favor of the supervillain, We Got This Covered reports. The website adds previous trailers hinted Firestorm and Cheetah as the new characters on "Injustice 2."

A May 15 Droid Report article says the new character for “Injustice 2” is Firestorm. The report based it on the YouTube channel UpUpDown of WWE wrestler Xavier Wood. The new game would launch on May 16 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

List Of 26 Confirmed Characters. A GameSpot list of 26 confirmed characters for “Injustice 2” names them as Aquaman, Atrocitus, Bane, Batman, Black Canary, Blue Beetle and Brainiac. Also on the list are Catwoman, Cheetah, Cyborg, Darkseid, Deadshot, Dr. Fate, Firestorm, Flash, Gorilla Grodd and Green Lantern. Finally, the roster also has Green Arrow, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Robin, Supergirl, Superman, Swamp Thing and Wonder Woman.

Captain Cold is the leader of the Rogues, a loose criminal association. He is a fictional supervillain who appears in DC Comics. He is the speculated next character on “Injustice 2,” an upcoming fighting video game that NetherRealm Studios is developing that Warner Bros. would publish as a sequel to “Injustice: Gods Among Us” released in 2013.
