Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Smartphones Are The First Devices To Have Bluetooth 5.0 Technology

Samsung finally has unveiled their new flagship smartphones for this year with the new Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus replacing its predecessors. Both the new devices come with a host of new features, better hardware and of course better software to make sure everything looks better than they hoped for. Samsung is still hoping to recover from their Note 7 debacle that had to be called back globally due to issues like exploding battery, and smoke emissions on the devices.

The new Galaxy S8 smartphones were launched at a venue not common for their previous phones with Samsung planning to ditch the Mobile World Congress to launch their new devices and instead chose to launch it on a dedicated stage. Coming to the details for the new models, Samsung silently snuck in the Bluetooth 5.0 technology for their new smartphones, that reportedly performs better in transfer speeds and also wireless distance for headphones. The Verge in their review highlighted further about all the capabilities of it.

With the presence of Bluetooth 5.0 on the Galaxy S8 smartphones, the devices will be able to perform much better in transfer speeds, while details from Engadget estimates the speed to be twice than that of Bluetooth 4.2. The devices will also function faster and connect to other devices four times that of the range of devices available for pairing.  While such speeds are possible with the new Bluetooth technology, there won't be an instant notice that people will notice.

Both Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphones hardly differ in core specifications, but there are noticeable changes in the size of the display on both models, with the bigger variant, the S8 Plus having a screen size of 6.2-inches with no button placements in the front. Samsung has done an amazing job to bounce right back into the competition after the aforementioned reasons got them into a bit of a slump.
