Microsoft confirmed it would launch next week the Xbox Live Games with Gold for April 2017. Beginning April 1, two games would be available for free download by Games with Gold members. These are “Ryse: Son of Rome,” which is available the whole month and “Darksiders,” available until April 15 only.
By mid-April “The Walking Dead: Season 2” would be included in the Live Games with Gold April 2017 lineup for 30 days until May 15. Also beginning April 16, “Assassin’s Creed Revelation” would be available until April 30, Express reports. Xbox One owners still have two days left to download for free “Layers of Fear,’ while Xbox 360 owners also have two remaining days left to download “Heavy Weapon,” which are part of the March releases. Owners of the two consoles have until April 15 to download “Evolve: Ultimate Edition.”
The two games for Xbox 360 under the Live Games with Gold April 2017 release could be played on Xbox One consoles with Backward Compatibility, Major Nelson points out. Except for “The Walking Dead: Season 2,” which costs $24.99, the three other games are normally priced at $19.99 each, according to Geek of Doom.
“Ryse: Son of Rome,” one of the Xbox Live Games with Gold April 2017 free game, takes place amid the late Roman Empire’s chaos. Ryse becomes Marius Titus, a soldier who starts on a dangerous journey to seek vengeance for the family’s death and to defend Rome’s honor. “The Walking Dead: Season 2,” a sequel to the Game of the Year in 2012, continues Clementine’s story. The young girl orphaned by the undead apocalypse is left to fend for herself and must develop survival skills in an unforgiving world.
Another Xbox Live Games with Gold April 2017 free game is “Darksiders,” which would see the War return to post-apocalyptic Earth, while “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations” follows the footsteps of Altair, the hero of the original game.
