Lucid Air vs Tesla Model S: Lucid Motors' Newest Model, a Tesla Killer?

Lucid Motors, formerly Atieva, recently launched its newest model, which is the Lucid Air. Car experts believed that the latest model would jump on the bandwagon that would be better than its one of the competitors, Tesla Model S.

Elon Musk, co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla Inc. reached the peak of success as Tesla Model S has been really outstanding when it comes to maintenance bills and eliminating insurance. However, the creation of Lucid Air may change his fate.

Last March 15, Wednesday, Lucid Motors finally broke the speculation about its newest model as it announced that the Lucid Air will cost $52,500. While compared to Tesla Model S. price starts at $71,200, costly than the said competitor.

While when it comes to the range of these cars, Tesla Model S can run up to 219 miles compared to Lucid Air, which is a 240-mile range. However, back in 2016 Tech Times reported that Lucid Motors's newest model can boast its model even up to the 400-mile range.

Lucid Motors' said that its Lucid Air isn't just a "prototype" one for its performance will be a 400-horsepower rear drive. In contrast with Teslas Model that can just perform up to 320-horsepower.

Tesla Model S is known for its innovative tech design that includes a 17-inch screen, digital dashboard, an autopilot and self-driving hardware. While the Lucid Air is far advanced with its competitor for it has 4 different screens, LED multi-lens array headlights but has the same autopilot and self-driving hardware just like Tesla.

While when it comes to looks car experts admitted that Lucid Air is far better than the Tesla Model S. Jonathan M. Gitlin, Ars Technica, wrote, "the first thing that strikes you is the car's relative compactness [...] similar size to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class on the outside but with S Class-beating space on the inside."

As of this moment, Tesla Model S will soon end its production, however not for Lucid Air. Lucid Motors' newest model will be available by 2018.
