The famous dating app Tinder has extended its love radar on Tuesday with its latest web version - Tinder Online, giving a new platform for online daters to swipe through potential dating (or something else) partners. Previously, the location-based dating app is only available on smartphones.
According to Tinder, the web version is made so that more people could enjoy using the app without barriers or limitation such as weak network signal or low memory on their smartphones. The web version is also made for busy students and workers- those who are "stuck in a lecture hall" or "had to endure an eight-hour workday" without the access to Tinder.
To those who are familiar with Tinder, the mechanism is basically the same like in the smartphones, although the web version lacks "super like" and the premium features. For those who would like to give Tinder a try for the first time, simply navigate Tinder.com through your web browser, and log in through Facebook (you must be a Facebook user before you can use Tinder). Choose your best photos and write your perfect bio before swiping. If it's a match, you will gain the access to send messages to your newly found partner. Here's the catch - your lists of potential partners are generated through your Facebook likes and your Spotify. And when you choose to "like" someone on Tinder, that person need to "like" you back before he/she becomes your match.
If you do not have Facebook and don't plan to have one, Tinder is still figuring out a new way to get new recruits into the love game by testing the ability to login via SMS directly from your mobile phone in various markets. Tinder Online is currently being tested in seven countries - Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Philippines, and Sweden, and will soon be adding more countries to the list in the nearest future.
