Huawei Technologies Co. has rolled out its first ever update for its newest flagship, the Huawei P10, even before the smartphone officially hit the market. The update is reportedly issued to fix camera-related glitches and to improve the performance and stability of its camera system.
According to Wired, the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus, along with the Huawei's newest smartwatches, are already available to pre-order in the United Kingdom. And while Huawei Technologies Co. will only begin shipping the P10 and P10 Plus starting on March 31, 2017, the new Huawei flagship has already received its first update.
The update for the Huawei P10 is reportedly focused on a couple of camera-related enhancements and optimizations. The update fixes a camera system glitch in which the camera would not launch via Google Voice. Also, the update contains a fix for the issues regarding the camera preview screen.
While it is puzzling to some consumers why the first update for the Huawei P10 has been released even before the Huawei flagship has hit the market, it is not unusual. As ever, in the tech industry, glitches like these sometimes go unnoticed even under the watch of the most thorough and vigilant QA/QC personnel.
Huawei followers shouldn't be concerned, however. Updates like this are enforced to correct unforeseen errors and it usually works. And by all accounts, the Huawei P10, or the P10 Plus for that matter, is a solid smartphone.
Tech Radar, on its product review, states that the Huawei P10 has an improved designed compared to its predecessor, the P9. Also, the new Huawei flagship has a new fingerprint scanner that would allow users to navigate between screens and apps, and a vastly improved camera system.
The improved camera system shouldn't really come as a surprise since Huawei has entered a partnership with Leica. Leica, a German camera developer, has created the front-facing camera to enhance the selfie-taking ability of the Huawei 10P.
The Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus were introduced at the Mobile World Congress. Carphone Warehouse and Mobiles.co.uk. are accepting pre-orders for these latest Huawei flagship smartphones. There is, however, still no news whether the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus will be available in the USA.
