Samsung X Foldable Phones: Bendable Screens Once Starred On This Sony Tablet

Mar 28, 2017 08:08 AM EDT

The Samsung X foldable phones could very well be the new trend once the dust has settled. Prototypes have been coming out and such is an indication that the mobile phone market may be gearing towards a new niche. For those who have been around for long, most will agree that this will not be a first to see foldable mobile devices.

There was a time when foldable phones were a hit. Nokia and Samsung had their fair share of offerings until Apple changed everything with its straight and touch-based iPhone. With the technology, foldable devices took a step back, waiting for another innovation that could see them return to the picture. That time may be coming soon if the Samsung X foldable phones prosper, Phone Arena reported.

The key to seeing Samsung X foldable phones may fall on the bendable nature of the display screen. The closest that came to that was the Sony Tablet P. Some may not have come across it when it came out back in September 2012. Among the specs the Sony tablet had to offer to include a pair of 5.5-inch screens, a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip with a dual-core 1GHz CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal but expandable storage and running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb, GSM Arena reported.

The obvious standout feature was the two 5.5-inch screens of the Sony Tablet P. Both could function independently and as one big screen (approximately 11-inches). With the difference in technology then and now, the Samsung X foldable phones are expected to offer something more powerful. A lot has changed in the past five years and Samsung has the knack of creating something ridiculously advanced.

Comparing a foldable phone and tablet offers different specs. However, one needs only to read between the lines that some new technology will crop up at some point. If so, this would make the Samsung X foldable phone a pretty awesome device to look out for.
