Following the emotionally-filled season finale, fans of the hit anime, "Yuri!!! On Ice," have been eagerly awaiting its second season. Good news for fans is that "Yuri!!! On Ice" Season 2 is currently in production and have been reportedly slated for an October 2017 air date!
According to Droid Report, the main plot of "Yuri!!! On Ice" Season 2 will focus on the relationship between Yuri Katsuki, Viktor Nikiforov following Yuri's second place finish in the Grand Prix Finals. Viktor, Yuri's trainer slash love interest, has made up his mind to make a comeback to competitive figure skating while simultaneously taking the role as Yuri's coach.
Fans would remember that Yuri Katsuki has decided to call it quits after losing to Yuri Plisetsky in the Grand Prix Finals. However, it was Yuri Plisetsky who ultimately urged the Yuri Katsuki to continue his career in figure skating. And this led to Yuri Katsuki asking Viktor to train him again for another year, thus setting up an intriguing plot that could potentially affect their relationship in "Yuri!!! On Ice" Season 2.
Mitsuro Kubo, the creator of the controversial anime "Yuri!!! On Ice," has been elusive with regards to the actual air date of season 2.
