Google is following Apple's footsteps in offering premium iOS apps for free via its Free App of the Week promotion. The Google Play Store Free App of the Week section can be found on the Apps page in the Play Store, both on mobile and desktop.

Google Play Store Free App of the Week section has its first occurrence in India. Providing the fact if everything goes well, this feature will be rolled out to other regions soon.

The Google Play Store Free App of the Week section will highlight the weekly offer on popular apps which all of them that supposed to be a paid title will become free of charge for only a week. According to 9TO5Google, consumers can download the first free game app of the week, "Card Wars-Adventure Time" which normally priced at $2.99.  

The Google Play Store Free App of the Week section feature a free game app deal for this week, but it is believed that other apps besides game might follow. In addition, the promotional titles are carefully selected by developers, meaning the quality of the apps is also good.

Since the Google Play Store Free App of the Week is updated gradually, be patient if the feature hasn't reached the device. Users still can download the free app manually by simply searching the title in the search bar.

AndroidGuys gives out a report that apart from the Google Play Store Free App of the Week section, another change is found in the My App page. Apps are now divided into four tabs, including Updates, Installed, Library, and Beta. Furthermore, users have the option of sorting apps within the installed and library tabs alphabetically, by size, last updated or last used.

It is also believed that besides the Google Play Store Free Apps of the Week section, Google Play will also have an all-new editorial page soon. The new editorial page will allow the company's editors to choose games that can offer optimal gaming experiences on android, as reported by NDTV.
