‘Splatoon 2’ Update: Lobby Easter Egg Let Players Create A Jam Session While Waiting For A Match

Mar 27, 2017 07:10 AM EDT

This weekend plays an important part of Nintendo's Global Testfire event for the game "Splatoon 2" which marks the public's first chance to get their hands on the game. There are two more test fire sessions left this weekend, today at 11:00 PM EDT and tomorrow at 7:00 AM EDT, consumers who have a Nintendo switch can try it out.

According to Polygon, there's something peculiar about "Splatoon 2" beta which is the left analog stick that's allowed you to bend the pitch of certain sound effects in the lobby's background music. This is true for the entire face of the controller; The Nintendo Switch's left Joy-Con's D-pad activates various sound effects while the right Joy-Con's face buttons activate various vocal samples.

Players can now take a jam and create some tunes for "Splatoon 2" while waiting on the match-making screens. "Splatoon 2" has an easter egg that lets players mess with the pitch of the lobby music along with their own jamming sounds by simply rolling the Joy-Con analog sticks and pressing the D-pad buttons.

The right Joy-Con's X, Y, B, and also A add hauntingly modulated voice samples such as DJ Octavio; the first game's main antagonist in "Splatoon 2." The music you can create is more of a fun distraction than anything else, just like stretching Mario's face in "Super Mario 64." Players will be given a collective chance for creativity and industriousness; modern day genius can compose something great before the weekend is over. It was expected that someone can create a chilling mix of the "Splatoon 2" menu music in the minute's time takes to find another enemy in the game's matchmaking.

According to Kotaku, players can exert a bit of control over the game's music, where they can create a valuable tune during a particularly long "Splatoon 2" load time. The Easter egg was thrown in to ease the loss of "Splatoon's Squid Jump mini-game which was now also available on the Wii U gamepad. Well, it's not a full minigame; "Splatoon 2" will be released later this summer.
