Companies such as GoPro and DJI have been commonly interested for the Quad-copters and fixed-wing drones which they have recently released their different offering for the drone market. Although, the professional underwater drone market is still not firm enough as there are quiet few devices to choose from. Good news is that a rising company is trying to raise funds to offer to the market a new remote controlled submarine; called the Gladius.
As noted from the reports of Indie Gogo, the upcoming Gladius will be an underwater drone that is capable of taking 4K video and will be able to dive up to 100 meters. This crowd-funded project aims to offer to the market a truly professional underwater camera drone that can be useful for consumers in terms of exploration, reconnaissance, underwater photography, recreation, and other important tasks that require an extreme photo and video at extreme depths underwater.
The company wants to produce the said Gladius underwater drone with two different variants; with a 1080p standard photo along with a 4K advanced model. This drone can be tested and used directly into the sea or any bodies of water in which it will be supported by a Wi-Fi Buoy that tethers the drone into its surface.
According to Tech Crunch, users will be able to control Gladius drone up to 30 meters away from the Buoy. This underwater drone was also equipped w8ith two 1,200 lumens LED arrays that will be enough helpful for depths where light can't penetrate; this yellow double cylinder Gladius drone was made with a controller which is capable of attaching to any smartphone.
The Gladius underwater drone will be similar into a conventional aerial drone which has four degrees of freedom, this means that the varieties of any shots and angles that can be taken from its camera will be endless; no limitations. The company officially announced that this underwater Gladius drone with the advanced model will carry a price tag that starts at $1,399.
