There is no word yet on when the Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 will come out in the open though some of the features it may sport have been spotted. Among them include a modest 4.8-ich (1280x720p) display and a 12 MP front-facing camera.

These partial specs were recently seen on GFX Bench which now ramp up the potential specs of the mid-range Samsung Galaxy J5 2017. The display and the selfie-shooter append the previous specs that the device would carry. Among those already laid out in the open include a device sporting an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset, a Mali-T830 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and a 12 MP rear camera, Phone Arena detailed.

As far as the camera compliment of the Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 is concerned, that adds up to a 24 MP camera in all. Both cameras can record full HD videos but the rear part will be the only one aided by LED flash. Yet to be known is the Android OS version it would come with as well as the battery tasked to keep it up for daily use.

For a mid-range device, the Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 seems to be targeting the growing community of selfie-lovers. Rival brands like Oppo have been curiously resorting to that angle and the consumer market seems to be responding. Aside from Samsung and Oppo, other noteworthy brands emphasizing on the front-facing camera circus include HTC, Sony Xperia, and Vivo.

Branding and pricing are seen as the one setting them apart which begs to ask how much the Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 would cost. Its predecessor carried a suggested retail price of $267 so there is a chance the upcoming variant could get a nudge up in pricing. With the improved specs, most are hoping that the added cost won’t be dramatic since it is still classified as a mid-range device.
