Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones are expected to be released on Mar. 29 this month. With the smartphone picking up new updates and rumours every day, there's a new twist to its release according to certain sources. The following update might be a bit disappointing for potential S8 and S8 Plus buyers, due to its pricing.
Sources from GSMArena report that the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus, which will shortly be released worldwide, will have differential pricing for and will depend on the country of purchase. This will also affect all members of the Eurozone. Earlier reports believe the smartphones were expected to be priced at around €799 ($864) and €899 ($972), respectively, which in itself were a bit on the expensive side but also due to fairly obvious reasons.
With that said, both the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus models are expected to be offered in color choices like Black, Silver and Orchid Grey. It seems like both the models are expected to be available for purchase on Apr. 21, which the sources report being from an anonymous tipper. With the release of both the smartphones, Samsung is pretty concerned with capturing their target audience considering the disappointing debacle of the Note 7 that had to be recalled back for battery issues.
Other details from Digit stated that the varied pricing might also affect Samsung's South Asian markets, primarily India, which Samsung holds a major market share in the smartphone segment. Looking at the reports, it seems like the Galaxy S8 Plus might cross the 60,000 rupee mark (US $950) pretty comfortably. With some major changes in design, the Galaxy S8 Plus is currently one of the most anticipated smartphones in the market.
Earlier reports mention that the home button is now gone and will see the fingerprint sensor next to the camera bump at the rear. With that said, Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be completely free of any button placements on the front, with what seems to be first of a kind for the South Korean manufacturer.
