New updates are suggesting that Lenovo is likely to release a Sapphire Blue variant of the upcoming Moto G5 to join the previously unveiled variants, the Lunar Grey and Fine Gold soon. According to the updates, the Press renders, which unveiled the update of the upcoming Sapphire Blue variant of the Moto G5, was leaked by famous tipster Roland Quandt on his Twitter account.
The developer unveiled the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at MWC 2017, which was held last month. Although the new devices were originally launched in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold variants, Lenovo mentioned at the launch that there will also be a Sapphire Blue variant that would be exclusive to only three carrier subscribers, according to Gadget.
The press renders also revealed that the Sapphire Blue variant of the Moto G5 appears to be blue on both sides and the rear. However, the front of the device will be having a black shade, which is something rare when compared to what fans have seen with Really Blue Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones from Google.
There is no official word or confirmation from Lenovo on the leaks of the Sapphire Blue variant of the Moto G5, and there is also no word on when this variant will be available. It is also reported that the developer has not revealed the price and whether the new option will be limited in number.
As fans already know, Lenovo launched the Moto G5 Plus smartphone on Mar. 15 and the Moto G5 is also expected to launch any moment from now. Although the Moto G5 Plus was launched starting at Rs. 14,999, the launch of Moto G5 has not been announced in India. According to reports, the Moto G5 Plus is already the fastest selling smartphone on Flipkart for its price segment.
The device is also the first smartphone in the Moto G series to feature a metal body. The Moto G5 Plus comes in variants of 3GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB internal storage. The 3GB + 16GB variant will be available for Rs 14,999 and the 4GB RAM + 32GB variant will retail for Rs 16,999 on Flipkart.
The Moto G5 Plus features 5.2-inch FHD display and runs on Android Nougat. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor and also has a microSD card support. The smartphone has a 12MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.
Meanwhile, the Moto G5 features a five-inch FHD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor with 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage. It also has a 13-megapixel rear camera with aperture f/2.0, 1.1-micron pixels and PDAF and the front has a 5-megapixel snapper. The device, which measures 144.3 x 73 x 9.5 mm and weighs 144.5 grams, runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and features a 2,800mAh removable battery with 10W rapid charger. It supports connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and micro USB port. It also has a home button that doubles up as a fingerprint reader.
