The Niantic press release invited players to contribute their efforts to make this event a huge success. The company described that "Pokemon Go" Water Festive will begin 1 P.M. PDT on Mar. 22. The players will be more likely to encounter Totodile, Magikarp, Squirtle and their evolution all around the world. Besides, they can even get a chance to catch Lapras and other water-type Pokemon.
Apart from Pokemon, the players can also discover new wardrobe item like a Magikarp hat. The players can celebrate spring through "Pokemon Go" Water Festival till Mar. 29. It is speculated that this event will be more successful than previous events.
The popularity of the game increased when Niantic release Halloween event. The gruesome Pokemon had made "Pokemon Go" the highest grossing app of all time. The number of downloads crossed millions in just weeks.
But with the popularity of this augmented reality game continues to decrease with Thanksgiving and Holiday event. It seems that "Pokemon Go" players were not interested in the game and the gameplay was limited to events only. Players are expecting events and numerous leaks about the game keep their hopes up.
Previously, the news coming from social media is claiming that Shiny Pokemon could be coming later today. It is said that Niantic is planning a "Pokemon Go" Water Festival to catch shiny Pokemon like Magikarp and Gyarados. Later on, the company even confirmed the news about its upcoming spring event.
A Facebook post by Madrid-based "Pokemon Go" trainer which described by shiny and legendary Pokemon could be coming later today. The trainer unknowingly leaked the "Pokemon Go" Water Festival event and generation 2 release date earlier.
Besides, one of the "Pokemon Go" trainers even shared a tweet which later Niantic has to make public. The tweet reads that "Starting today, Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile, and friends will be making a splash in the "Pokémon GO" Water Festival! It can be said that this water festival is the new spring event Pokemon fans are waiting for.
