OnePlus 3T Latest News & Update: Crooked Camera Bumps Taint The Aesthetics Of Flagship Phone

Mar 23, 2017 06:26 AM EDT

Folks who own the OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T may want to take a second look at the smartphone, particularly around the camera area. Some keen observers singled out a crooked camera bump which seems to be affecting other users as well but in a different way.

The good news is the crooked bumps spotted on the OnePlus 3 units do not affect how the camera performs and are more of an aesthetic problem. The camera bump was first brought up on Reddit courtesy off someone using the handle @hyperjit. This included images and videos of the new Colette special edition OnePlus 3T.

The first thing that most would conclude is that could be a major defect. But until it was singled out, no one really noticed the slightly tilted cameras on the OnePlus 3. Compared to the issues other smartphones are experiencing (i.e. bricked phones or battery drains), this external problem is not expected to place people in a panic.

OnePlus has not been made aware of the camera bump issue. This is the assumption that the built-in camera is performing without issues tied. In the case of some OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T owners who may be having problems, it would be best to touch base with them and have the device checked, Android Authority reported.

The limited “Colette” edition of the OnePlus 3T recently launched in Paris and now a 128 GB Midnight Black variant has surfaced over in India. It will be up for grabs but in limited quantities starting March 31 for Rs 34,999 at the OnePlus online store and/or Amazon India.

Aside from the color variation, the OnePlus 3T comes with an impressive list of features. That includes a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, a 2.35 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 6 GB of RAM, 64/ 128 GB of internal storage, a 16 MP main camera, 8 MP front-facing shooter and a 3,400 mAh battery. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based OxygetOS out-of-the-box.
