‘Pokemon Go’ Latest Update: Niantic Labs Reportedly Planning to Implement New Redeemable Passcodes

Niantic Labs, the developer of the massively popular location-based, augmented-reality mobile game "Pokemon Go," is reportedly contemplating the implementation of new redeemable passcodes in "Pokemon Go." "Ingress," another AR-based game developed by the studio, already has these redeemable pass codes so bringing it to "Pokemon GO" is quite possible.

According to Otakukart, data miners going over the game files of "Pokemon Go" recently discovered that these new redeemable passcodes might actually make it to the actual game. This is not as far-fetched as it may sound since Niantic Labs is already running a redeemable passcode for the game "Ingress."

These passcodes, when redeemed, allow the users to receive rewards including XP and other basic gear. While there has been no official word from the "Pokemon Go" developer with regards to these new redeemable passcodes, people connected with "Ingress" routinely, albeit while being quiet, share snippets of their passcodes on social media.

If the data discovered by these code-digger/miners are true, these new redeemable passcodes would be a welcome relief for "Pokemon Go" trainers struggling to collect XP and candies. However, fans have no idea about the mechanics of these new passcodes.

The popular vlogger, TRNRTips (Trainer Tips), hints that new features would be implemented into "Pokemon Go." In a Twitter post, TRNRTips shared his experience about the time he sneaked into Niantic Labs' office and his conversation with Pokemon Company officials from Japan.

As to what new feature is going to be introduced into "Pokemon Go," the vlogger didn't reveal. This caused "Pokemon Go" fans to speculate that this new feature about to be implemented into the game has something to do with the new redeemable passcodes, or it could be something entirely new and unrelated to the passcode.

That said, the fact that Niantic Labs is seemingly contemplating to implement new redeemable passcodes for bonuses shows that the studio is continuously looking for ways to make "Pokemon Go" more enjoyable. That alone may be enough to keep the game on top of the online gaming industry until other important features, such as trading can be introduced.
