Samsung Galaxy S8: More Insights About The Upcoming Smartphone Revealed

Mar 22, 2017 02:00 PM EDT

More details have surfaced on the Internet about the upcoming flagship smartphone from the South Korean electronics giant Samsung. The Galaxy S8 is expected to be announced, sometime in the last week of March this year. Samsung also secured an exclusive partnership with Qualcomm for their Snapdragon 835 processors, making it literally unavailable for other manufacturers for some time.

The Galaxy S8 is Samsung's most prioritised hardware launch since the debacle of their Note 7 phablets led to a huge disappointment among the smartphone enthusiasts. Reports stated that the Galaxy S8 is the next best move for the manufacturer to withhold their customers once again. Reports from The Verge reveal that Samsung plans to hold a special event on Mar. 29 to announce the new smartphones.

Other details also reveal that the Galaxy S8 smartphone will be arriving in two sizes, most notably in their screen sizes being 5.7-inches and the 6.2-inch variants, with the latter being called as the "Galaxy S8 Plus." Samsung will implement their edge displays for both the models, unlike earlier times. Both the phones will also be bezel-less to an extent to mostly maximise the screen space.

Meanwhile, an in-depth write-up from Trusted Reviews highlights the new color choices that Samsung plans to introduce for the Galaxy S8 smartphones. Color choices for the new phones include a new 'violet' option alongside 'orchid grey' and 'arctic silver' as reported earlier. Samsung's own Bixby AI assistant is also confirmed, according to details available from an Italian retailer.

Samsung has also ditched the home button, which acted as a fingerprint sensor, and has moved it to the back of the device just next to the camera sensor. Image leaks for the same were revealed by the popular tipster, Evan Blass on his Twitter feed. The move also puts an end to Samsung's iconic design language for all their previous generation of flagship smartphones.
